This Privacy Policy describes how the LinkedIn Engagement Tool ("we", "our", or "the extension") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Chrome extension.

We keep your data local by default. The extension only connects to services you configure (e.g., AI provider API) and to your own backend for authentication where applicable.

Information We Collect

Extension settings you explicitly configure (e.g., toggles, contexts, API keys) stored locally in your browser via Chrome storage.
Optional analytics counters (posts visited, reactions, comments) stored locally to show you charts and summaries.
Authentication tokens issued by your backend (if you use the gated features), stored locally to maintain your session.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not transmit your LinkedIn content or browsing history to our servers.
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
We do not use third‑party analytics or tracking inside the extension.

How Your Data Is Used

To provide extension features like AI comment generation and engagement analytics.
To authenticate your access if you enable the login gate (email OTP flow).
To store your preferences so they persist between browser sessions.

Data Storage and Security

Most data is stored locally using Chrome storage APIs.
Access tokens (if used) are stored locally and included as Authorization headers only when calling your configured backend.
We apply the Chrome Extension security model and Content Security Policy shipped with the extension.

Third‑Party Services

If you configure an AI provider (e.g., Google Gemini) or your own backend, requests are sent directly from the extension to those services. Your API keys are stored locally and used only for those calls.

Data Retention

Settings and local analytics remain until you clear them via the extension’s “Clear All Extension Data” option or uninstall the extension.
Authentication tokens remain until you log out or clear extension data.

Your Choices

You can enable/disable features in Settings at any time.
You can clear all locally stored data from the extension.
You can uninstall the extension at any time to remove it completely.

Children’s Privacy

The extension is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
